This is a follow up to a prev post. Motoring along and motor revved up like a spun hub, changed props and not a cure. I drained the lu and found milky fluid. Could this be the cause of my slippage. It seems to shift fine. Switch works good and good voltage to the wires. Prop locks up in forward and reversed like it should. Of course just by hand. It might be different under a load. If this is not a simple fix I think I will part the motor out or find a mechanical shift I can put this good powerhead on. Does it have to be a 40hp or will a similar year 35 leg and lu take a 40 hp power head?
