1963 650 engine
I have been having this problem for a couple of years and JUST putting up with it. It is a single lever control with warmup lever.
After I have warmed up the engine with the lever lifted, I return it to a idle, shift into forward or reverse and off we go. No problem, right? WRONG When I need to slow down to dock or to tie up, I return the throttle lever towards netural and the darn warmup lever will raise to it's highest point, increasing the engine RPM to the point that you can't shift it. I must push the warmup lever down to shift into netural. I can do it myself, as I'm use to it, but now that my Grandsons are old enough to use it, I'm sure there is a crunch/damage in the future as it is.
The photos attached is the control that I have, but not mine. I found it on the net. I haven't tied into the thing yet. Looks like many parts inside to mess up. Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanks, Tom
