I own a 1965 50hp two cylinder Seaking. I understand that Wards retailed these. I've had the coils checked and they're OK. It turns over but won't start...and I've seen smoke coming from the top, underneath the flywheel. I'm in Austin and travel to Houston often.

Is this worth keeping? Might need a stator? (I can email photos)

dt_kelly@yahoo.com

Welcome to iboats.

That must be a Chrysler motor. It wouldn't be worth spending much on. But if you can get it going fairly cheap, they're not bad motors. Aftermarket parts are available from most any dealer, but a Merc dealer that handled Force might have quite a few factory original parts on hand. Many can be ordered.
