Re: 1965 alumacraft alpex parts needed

thanks rick, i appreciate it. took the boat out today for the 3rd time. i wasn't quite as nervous this time so i guess it will get better. we must look rather comical trying to back the boat in, getting it in and out of the water etc etc. hope it gets easier for me. i wish i would have started this adventure 20 years ago. lol i tried to add pics but i guess they were too big for this site. maybe when i get home from vacation i can play around with them as i would love to show you guys, and gals, the boat.

If you upload your pics to a photobucket.com account you can resize them to the forum-acceptable 640x480 with a simple mouse click. Welcome to iboats and I look forward to the pics of your boat.

Sammy good to hear you are at least enjoying yours already ( in the water ) . My Starcraft is in the driveway upside down halfway through paint and although it has been splashed severl times this week the water is comming from the sky and doesnt count :D. I haven t been able to do much to mine this week at all with the rain . The top three threads here go over postinjg pictures.

I agree with EZ the easiest way to put your pictures up is to open a photobucket account and host them there .

For parts I have found many parts for my 62-63 starcraft in a local boat shop. They have TONS of vintage crap. I use that term loosely. They are a second going on third generation shop. I would look for one of these places. They have everything.

Jim can you post a link to your local boat shops web site in the Starcraft section so other members with Starcrafts might be able to find some of these NOS starcraft parts :D.

Re: 1965 alumacraft alpex parts needed

we have been camping for 10 days now and we got to use the boat quite a few times and we love it. it was a bit overwhelming at first as we had to learn from backing a trailer, launching, to loading back up etc etc. it has been quite the adventure for us as we have been teaching ourselves other than the pointers we have gotten from fellow campers. we had a few snags here and there but survived them all. the last time i put her in i actually backed it into the water in one try! so proud! lol i am now going to attempt to add some pics for you all. let me know what ya think. it is all still original, even the motor. we only paid $800 for boat, motor and trailer. anyone know what it is worth? well, off to go fishing! :D
