Worked fine for me.....just a heads up though, although it seemed to be pumping fine you didnt have that lower unit deep enough in the drink, you really want the pump to be submerged when running in a tank like that.....

THIS^^^^ You're NOT deep enough. Trust me cuz I did the exact same thing with my '73 and it ended up taking a needless trip to the mechanic when there was nothing wrong with it. Covering the intakes is not enough. The entire pump must my submerged and it is located on top of the lower unit.

Your deck looks friggin' awesome!

I youtube under share, options you have to use the longlink and then use the FilmStip icon in iBoats to attach it.

Thanks Wood, I'll check it out.

Got the light gray on the insides of the hull finished up tonight, going to do one more coat on the deck tonight after the kids are in bed, this stuff covers very nice, I think 1 coat would be fine, however I'm going to do 2 coats, it looks really nice, however, before it was painted you couldn't really see any imperfections, now you can, I would of spent more time sanding the deck out, and working the seams better, but all in all, I'm happy with it, I'm not going for a 100% perfect boat, just want it 100% functional.

Here it is all dry and with the light gray sides all done, its getting 1 more coat done on the deck though.

Also put on this SE Sport Hydra-foil on the motor, I had really bad cavitation problems, in a straight line it was fine, but in tight corners if I didn't back way out of the throttle the prop would cavatae so bad the boat would come off plane.

Got another coat on the bilge today. Also hooked up the Navigation light, we wired for lights, just didn't hook them up yet, and I can't believe it but the darn thing works!! For this old it still works, I was certain I was going to have to do something with the light sockets, I took it apart and it looked really good in there, so I just hooked it up and I'll be darned, it works. I need to pick up a stern/anchor light still. And spent a few minutes figuring out where and how to mount speakers.

Well, got some more done today. My kids are getting really excited about tubing again, and that in itself makes me very happy, I'm all about fun, well at least I try my best, don't get me wrong I want to bring the kids up right, but I love having fun with them, and going out on the lake with them and friends and family is just such a great time, this is why I've been busting my butt to get this boat done. I can officially say its water ready by Monday, the 5200 that I used to seal the garbord drain, it says it takes a week to cure, so I at least have to wait till Monday to splash it, and Monday is supposed to be a great sunny day!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is how I held my seats down.

Interior shot, ski pole bolted in. These seats are very good for the money I spent, but I wish the base's wern't so flexy, they kinda flex a little if you push them side to side, but sitting on them they feel just fine. So tonight I sat in the boat with the radio going and had a beer, smiling the whole time!

Ski pole in, home made one, but it works very well.

Picked up some boxes today for the 6x9 speakers I had, and got them installed, sounds pretty good.
Also installed the battery!

Looking great! I put those exact seats in my last boat and yeah the bases seem a little flimsy but everything held up great for the 5 seasons I used it and they were still like new when I sold it. I had the jump seats also and made the mistake of storing an extra battery in the base of one of them and the weight of that bouncing around pretty much blew the base apart. Don't do that :p

Well I can officially call the boat FINSHED!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never thought this day would come! I think I might splash it tomorrow if the weather is good, why not, will be the best Fathers day present!!

Does anybody know where I can buy cleats like these? Two of mine are broken, and I'd love to keep the look.

attachment.php

Got the fuel line run and the bilge pump wires run and tied into place.

attachment.php

Fuel tank in, and the bilge pump hose exit on the port side. I run two of these tanks, has no problem eating them both up in an afternoon towing a 3 man ski tube, I may get a third.
