1965 starcraft nassau transom

I have a16 ft. 1965 starcraft nassau and the transom was mostly removed and rotted out and i have no idea how to make a template. Does anyone have one or could help?

Instead of cardboard I'd use luan / floor underlayment. One piece, more stiff.

My local lumber store caries door skins. a tad less than 1/8" thick, and you can almost cut with a utility knife.

however on a tinny, the transom is usually only from the top cap of the transom down to the notch in the knee braces.

you can trace the outside of the transom, off-set the ends just a tad, and make a transom super easy.
