I have a 20hp 1966 Chrysler outboard. Model# 20601---Serial# 3892. I got this Motor from a friend of a friend, so I don't know much about it and I don't know jack about outboards. When I got it the Power head was shot. I found the only guy in MN that would touch it. I guess that Chrysler outboards are looked down apon for some reason. My dad has a 9.9 of the same year and has never had a problem with it, so I don't get it. It has a new power head and the lower unit looks brand new. The problem I have with it is that when the motor warms up it's hard to start and it will run at half speed. When it's fresh it'll start right a way and run like a champ. Like you go to a fishing spot and when you goto leave it's a pain to start and runs at half speed if it starts. If you play with it in low idle it will sometimes get up and go, but you really have to play with it. When you move the throttle on the tiller arm there is nothing stopping the plate under the fly wheel from advancing the throttle on the carb. I was thinking that there is a short in a wire or the coil is bad. If any one has any idea's let me know. If anyone has a coil or what ever I need to fix this out let me know!

Thanks

Kevin
