1966 Merc 65HP - Only Forward (no Neutral or Reverse)

Just put it in the water today, and all I have is Forward. The shift/throttle lever goes from WOT Forward in the Forward position, to idle Forward in the center, to WOT Forward with the lever fully back.

I installed the motor and cables myself. Could it be a simple cable adjustment? If so, where can I find guidance on how to do it?

You guys are great - I got a question about a starter problem answered and solved in a few hours.

Some one has had the unit down and not indexed the upper and lower shift shafts or the upper shaft is twisted or broken
