1967 60HP Sportfour seal leak

Hi there, I am new to this forum. I just purchased an old Starcraft with an Evinrude 60 HP Sportfour. I know I need to replace seals in the lower unit. My question is, I noticed that in the bottom of the lower unit directly above the prop, there appears to be a small drilled hole. When the motor is vertical, I am getting oil leaking from this hole. Any ideas what this indicates? Thanks much.........Zeph

Water drain hole to prevent damage in freezing temperatures. Substance may be excess fuel & oil mixture draining out. Check that lower unit does not contain water.... large slotted screws only! Don't tamper with the philips screw.
