Back on the forum again. Thanks for all the help so far.
Finally managed to put it all together but now there is a problem shifting gears.
After tightening the screws, attaching lower unit, I was barely able to move shift lever in forward gear and back in neutral. After loosening these screws it goes in all gears but I need to apply lot of force. What can I do to have this thing working smooth?
Currently the gear case has no oil in it might this be the cause?

Do you recall the part number for the rebuild kit .... and do you know how hi the water level needs to be for that pump to prime ??

That was 14 years ago.-----Water MUST be 6" above the impeller for testing.---No , folks did not need tell tales back in the 1960's.------That is false modern thinking !
