I have a 1967 80 hp and wanted to try to use the cowl to repurpose it onto a 1990
Johnson 115. It is just a bit too small. Can anyone tell me if a 100hp cowl in this year is in fact bigger. Thank you in advance.

I can tell you that it is different in shape. But I don't know, size wise.

Thanks F_R. Looking at the design I like the 80 shape better. If I want to use the older cowl on the wider new motor I may have to modified it by splitting it down the middle and then adding an extra 1-2" as needed. We will be looking at all our options.

I always thought the 1964 -1968 90hp and 100hp cowls looked much better than the cowls on 1961 - 1968 lower hp V4s

At one time years ago I ran a 1966 100 hp inside a 1962 model 75 hp. -----The 100 hp was fitted with 1970 model 115 hp pistons.-------After I zoomed by another boat with the actual. 75 hp 1962 model I was asked " what year is your 75 hp Johnson " .-----Somehow I think the 67 model cowling will fit on a 1990 model 115.---Lower cowling may have to be carefully fitted / adapted.---If it stops raining I might try to see if the 66 cowling fits over a 1990 model.

Didn't the 4 bbl carb on the 100hp stick out further than the down drafting 2 bbl on the 75hp?

Taking some detailed measurements, and looking at the options. Turing my attention to taking the windshield off, going to get a new windshield soon.
