Hey all. So I just bough me a 1977 19' Silverline boat with a rotten Transom, and a 1967 Johnson 100HP Electromatic Outboard. Few things.

1. The boat came with the single cable steering system and the motor is deisgned for 2 cable as it has the springs on both sides. Can I convert this to the single cable system? Are there kits out there?

2. I want to run a hose to the motor as it is off the boat and make sure it fires and runs before I get too far into repairs. It won't take a normal set of ears on the sides as I don't think the motor takes the water from there.

3. Ordered my Seacast today for the boat and we will see what happens. Outside of the Transom is fine just the wood is rotted. I got all that out and gonna get ready to pour this weekend. I am taking photos and writing stuff done. Will post the progress...

Thanks for all your help everyone!!!

The lower end has to be submerged, a barrel might be big enough.
The problem with that engine is the electro shift, if the shift solenoids go bad you cannot buy new ones and they are expensive on ebay.
