Been through that on old flooring before. Prybar and roofing shovel were our only options

You're right on with the circular saw set shallow and make lots of cuts. Then start prying. It's tedious, but you'll get there.

So I removed the u sealed floor the previous screwed and glued to the original floor. Had to use circular saw and make a bunch of cuts them pry it off. Before I started reading all the posts on this site I thought it would be am easy fix and I could leave the "second floor" in place. Thank goodness I found this site amsnhave been able to benefit from.everyone else's knowledge and experience... The second floor was very solid but I knew inside it was only covering deeper issues. Little did I know... attached are.pics.of before and after.... and yes that is a.big hole.

Building a motor stand and a gantry crane and hope to remove the engine this weekend. Then I plan to remove the original floor. The floor at the back of the boat will come out by hand it is so deteriorated. Any suggestion on removing the rest is the floor that is more solid? Do i use a circular saw? A cut off wheel? Thanks

Circular Saw Set just shy of the deck thickness. Multiple cuts front to back and side to side. Hammer, Chisels, crowbar.

Thanks Wood. Plan to tear into it this weekend.

I have to say, one of the things I love about this process is doing tbings I have never done before... having to get out of comfort zone. Lots I am unsure of but I am determined to make this work. Thanks for everyone's support.

Question.... I am removing the original floor tomorrow, how is it attached? Just resin and fiberglass to the sides/hull? Also attaches to the stringers? And if so How? Thanks much.

Yes it will be glued/Peanut buttered to the stringsers, bulkheads etc. On the sides mine as are most attached by the tabbing from the floor to the gunnels. There may be a screw or nail in the mix also.

Very cold today so decided to work on the motor stand.. first pic is my son learning how to use a circular saw. The next two are the stand. Still need to add wheels but otherwise I think it is ready. My son and I hung on the stand and our combined weight is about 350 lbs... Motor weighs 246 lbs so it should work.

Then I decided to start on the floor. I was able to peel part of it back. It is coming up relatively easy. As you can see in one of the pics it doesn't look like they fiberglassed the underside.of the floor when it was built. Also, stringers look different than others I have seen. Appears they didn't seal the top of the wood in fiberglass. Looks instead like they used PB on top of the wood and glued them to the underside of the floor. The exposed wood is dark but seems solid. First I tapped it with a hammer and then hit it pretty hard and it didn't break up. Anyone seen this before? Again, thanks.

Hmm that IS a very interesting stringer design. I'm thinking that Maybe someone has replaced the factory ones. Don't think those are factory. If they're not rotted then I'd keep em the way they are.

Thanks Wood.. I hope to get the rest of the floor pulled tomorrow so I should be able to see more of what's under it. Should I still some holes in the wood part of the stringers to see if they are rotted?

As long as it is opened up, you certainlywant to drill some holes to make sure the structure is solid.

Question... is it possible the stringers are boxes in and their is flotation foam inside them? The little bit of literature I found in the boat says it had with flotation foam but i have not found any yet. I certainly have no experience in this so my thoughts might be a stretch here.

When you do the core samples you will see what is in there. If you are lucky it will be dry wood and/or dry foam.

Okay.. found the foam. Very little of it but it seems to be solid.

If its wet the foam...when you dig it out to the bottom and its dry you got very very lucky. Water will puddle on the bottom.
Ant yup till its all exposed that is a peculiar stringer set up.
