Hi folks I have been reading the restore forum for a while and decided I would like to try a restoration of my own. I am starting to think my way through the process and have the beginning of what will undoubtedly be many questions. I found a 68 17' aluminum Crestliner Nordic that had sat outside for the past 10 years and I am sure you can imagine the results. I have stripped everything out of the inside and am ready to start putting things back. My questions are 1) can I use 3/4" CDX plywood on the deck if I seal it with epoxy and if so what type of epoxy would work best and where can I get it. 2) The paint on the interior seem to be very good other than oxidation. Can I wash it really good give it a light sanding and then primer it? I am thinking I want to change the color. 3) The paint on the outside appears to have been repainted at sometime and there are two or three very small spots where the new paint is peeling. Will the entire outside need to be sanded down to bare metal? There are only a few scratches that go all the way to the metal and only one dent where there might be some cracking of the original paint. Thanks for any help and information. I have added a couple of pictures so you can see what I have. This is what she looked like when I brought her home and my wife thought I was crazy. It also came with a 100hp merc motor and the trailer. Thanks again.
