Can anyone confirm the part number for the gearcase Seal Kit for this motor?

When looking up online looks like there were a number of different kits for the 68 depending on the model suffix and I haven't been able to find definitive info online regarding the "C" suffix in the specific model I am working on.

Thanks in advance.

Tough one. Not sure if this helps but this claims to fit that gearcase.

Are you sure your motor has the original lower unit ?

This little motor appears to be ALL original from what I can tell and the story from the individual I purchased it from would go along with the condition of the motor. It's in terrific condition. I'd be VERY surprised to find something on this one that wasn't original.
That being said, its a 54 year old motor that I can't be sure of what happened in its 52+ years of history prior to landing in my hands.

I'm ASSUMING that it would be equivalent to Sierra Part 18-2680, as the note for this part indicates it fits 1967-1968, but ONLY "S" suffix for 1967 motors.

Here is something odd and I'm not sure it even helps. When I plug in 6802 in the where I buy parts, just like you it comes up 1967. But when I go to leroysrambilings his chart has it as a 1968. I think that guess of the 67 to 68 has to be the one but then who knows. Another thing, if you click on the parts in the kit it shows you what it looks like so you might have to just verify that way.

I believe the difference is in the propshaft seal.-----So find the number on your seal then cross reference to the kit.

Thanks racerone.
The difference is actually the driveshaft seal which is 300599 --> 327031, the proper Sierra kit is 18-2680.

Hope this helps save someone some time in the future.

Nope----The propshaft seal changed in 67.-----One part 303345 listed for 66 models.-----Two # listed for 67 ---303345 and 313282.-----Only 313282 listed for 68 models.

Well I can tell you this.
The driveshaft seal is stamped 300599, which is superseded by part 327031.

The different prop seal is in the 18-2679 kit.
