I have no spark to the plugs. Had this motor out for 2 hours running and then it quit on me and wont start. I have checked the amplifier and I am getting about 45V from it when cranking which would make sense because I blew up my 12V tester light the first time I checked it. I measure 10V when not cranking on the wire that goes to the coil with it disconnected. With this wire connected to the coil I have 10V when not cranking but as soon as I start cranking the voltage falls to nothing (mV). The coil is a brand new CDI coil. Is it possible to measure the coil output with a meter? I will try looking for an arch with the coil wire to the block. Checked for spark on the plugs while cranking and nothing. New plugs and wiring harness just before the 2 hour maiden voyage. I have gaped the points .010. When measuring the points for continuity they show resistance reading even when gaped??? The stator measures .75 ohms and is not grounded out so I think its good. Just about done with this motor. Is there a chance a wire could be shorted that runs to the key switch and if so how do I trouble shoot? Any suggestions?
