1969 45hp Chrysler question about engine plate broke stud identification

The plate is on the right side of the engine and has a stud that retains the shift linkage that transfers the cable motion to downward or upward movement to shift. My stud is broke off and I did a nice epoxy repair to this when I got boat but the repair failed so now I think I'm gonna replace the plate if possible. Can anyone tell me what this plate is called or point me to a diagram. See picture. Once I know what they call it then I can start the search. Thx Mitch

It is call "cylinder drain cover" partnumber FA 433471 and is a part of the fuel recirculating system.
It is NA but you should find it as a used part. Try Ebay or craiglist or try FrankA here at forum. Franzmarine may have it new or used.
Buy a used one, it will work and is way cheaper.
I have many of those BUT I am in Sweden, Euroupe.
BTW be careful when you remove the cover, try to not damage the gasket that is under. Then you not have to put a new one in.

The whole cylinder drain plate is a cast aluminum piece, INCLUDING the stud. If you can not find the part, simply drill and tap the broken part for a stud or bolt. Insert with some Permatex to seal it and use a spacer in the shift arm hole to remove "slop." Do not get sloppy with the Permatex and cause the internal screens to clog.

Then, once the shift arm is installed, remove the electrical tape holding the neutral interlock switch closed.

That should be a fairly easy part to find ?and best fix? from a donor motor if the 35-55hp will fit. W/O experience I probably d/n know how strong the plate will be with the hole. I understand ?KIS? but Good strength is my question.

1. Frank, If he drill and tap to add another stud should he downsize slightly and bushing up to keep the plate strong?
2. Or! Adding the same size stud (3/8??) will not weaken the plate?
3. Or! Could a bolt be added as a stud drilled and taped back on with a ?? ? 5/16? hard grade bolt added from the inside if room allows and bushing and lock nut on the threaded stud?
