My question is about a crack in the casting next to the center bolt hole on the bottom of the image. It isn't effecting the compression chamber and I was wondering if it is ok to use like this?

I'd use a flat file and clean up head and cylinder mating area, and put a new gasket on. It'd only leak water out from there, and it should seal w/gasket anyway. You could JB weld and clean it up, but the water jacket should seal fine as is.

I agree with above. Your very lucky (or not) to have that crack show up where it did. As long as your able to torque the head to spec. it shouldn't be a problem. It would be good to make sure your head is nice and flat before re-installing it. Best of luck. Rick.

Thank you "Rick" and "Kbait"!!!
I used a little JB Weld on that crack like you said and it's working fine.
You guys saved my little motor and I thank you for that.:)
