1970 1150 mercury little water coming out of pee hole

hello I have a 1970 1150 il6 motor runs good i carried it out last week and had water coming out pee hole after a few minutes running it just quite. I have replaced the impeller, but there is a plastic sleeve that was cracked? is this peace important? I have put it back together and fired it up now just a few plops of water falls out. what now

1st check the pee hole for obstructions. <br /><br />Then drop the lower unit again and jam the end of a garden hose up against the water-pipe and see if it flows OK with you force feeding it water.<br /><br />Sometimes there's more than the impeller at issue, the rest of the pump has to be in good shape too.<br /><br />-W

I blew into pee hole seemed clear, so I'll try your sugestion will let you know thanks a million.
