1970 70hp johnson ohms tests please help

thanks in advance,heres my problem,im doing ohms testing on the elec parts but not sure of the scale to set my multi meter on.its digital, is 2000k the high scale or the low scale.thanks more info after i get some answers.

No letter means 0 - 1000 ohms

K means kilo-ohm. One kilo-ohm is 1000 ohms.

M means meg-ohm. One meg-ohm is I million ohms.

You need to keep an eye out for the decimal point, if you are on the K scale and you get a reading of 0.5K (for example), this is 500ohms.


The lowest (and more precise) part of the scale is 0 to 1000, the next scale is the K scale, the final scale is the M scale.

Depending on what you are testing will determine which scale to use. Your manual should give you a range of values and you would choose a scale accordingly.
