so today I hooked the muffs up turned the water on and started the boat ran awesome, when I checked the oil it was white/milky color. the boat ran perfectly fine however no smoke needed a little throttle to keep it idling. this is the first time I have had the boat started btw was wondering what could the suspect of this be. It has a mercruiser 2.5 in it as well

How much water in the oil are we talking about here? Is the boat new to you?

Is the oil level way over full? Being white, I would bet it is. Probably a cracked block from improper winterization.

Pull the side covers off, you should be able to see the cracks behind the push rods.

No, it's not a head gasket. That's what everybody hopes for, just never is.

I should have said side cover, there is only one. Starboard side of the block, just below the head.
