I took the starter apart and found one of the brushes was not connected very well to it's wire. I cleaned the connection, soldered it back together, and it worked! Here's the video!! (It was too loud for my son so I was making sure he was ready.)
It was smokier than expected too. Like 2 stroke dirt bike smokey. Is that really normal? Did I just triple my carbon foot print to have a little fun on the lake??
