I am very knew to this motor and would appreciate any info regarding the problem we are having with our deck boat. The last time we drove it, no problem. The next time we tried to start it (3 days later) it tries to fire but isn't getting any gas it seems. We changed the spark plugs and had the power pack checked and the stator checked and the people seemed stumped as it all checks out fine. Somehow it seems like the lines to the spark plugs could be fouled??? We are at a loss as what to do and only have 4 weeks left to enjoy our used deck boat before they drop the lake for the winter. Any help or suggestions would certainly be welcomed. Thank you, Sharon

I'm not sure why you think you're noy geting fuel but do what the Doc said and check the plugs and see if they're wet or dry. If they look dry, use a squirt bottle with premix in it and give the carb(s) a shot of fuel while cranking and see if it starts or not. Get back to us on this same post and let us know the results.

c/6
Hooty

Have you checked the fuel pump diaphragm on the motor, not sure if this motor has one but I've had to replace one on a 15hp johnson. (could have a hole in it) and the fuel line that is plugged into the tank? Does the line have pressure? Stick something in the end that plugs up to the motor and see if fuel squirts out.

Make sure your battery is fully charged and connections are clean and in good condition.
If you are using a portable tank, try setting it higher than the fuel pump temporarily and keep light steady pressure on the bulb while cranking. If this helps, the fuel pump is suspect.

It seems that I have made a mistake and that our engine is not firing, as I said I am new to this engine mechanic thing. Thank you for your reply. Sharon
