What is the option for replacing it ? I want to see about getting this old motor up and running. Any idea what the cost is to re-build the carbs ? Been sitting a while, like years........ Shift and throttle controls are ok.

Also there is a rectangular chrome "Merc-Control" box, dash mounted on this old '71 Glastron GT-150 that I assume has a key and start button ?? The only thing there is the plate and two round holes.............

Thanks,

Don

You can check on E-bay as well for the harness. Before you dive in and spend money though. Do a couple checks, such as compression, and bottom end fluid etc.. The carbs and fuel pumps are pretty inexpensive to rebuild. You may also need fuel lines, again not to hard on the pocketbook. The water pump should be changed, and check over the internal wiring on the motor too. Look for cracked insulation, etc. If it has even compression, ie not much more than 10 lbs between cylinders, and has spark, then it should be pretty easy to get it up and running again. However switch box's, triggers, stators etc can be pricey for those motors, so beware.
