I have a 1971 Mercury 9.8hp 110 and have done the following work to it recently to try and resolve the problem. It will shut off when I run it full throttle after a few minutes. Starts right back up after 2nd pull and idles fine. Just dies wide open.<br /><br />Any suggestions? Could it be something with the float in the carb? Not sure what to do with it now.<br /><br />Could the power pack have anything to do with this? Wondering if it could be losing spark when full throttle.<br /><br />I have done the following:<br />- new fuel line<br />- new vacuum hose<br />- new spark plugs<br />- new spark plug wires<br />- cleaned carb<br />- fuel pump appears to be pumping fuel okay<br />- water pump works great
