Hey guys, have really enjoyed reading this forum. Wish I could have found it earlier. It's been a great help in restoring my motor on the Silver Streak (old 14' Tide Craft bathtub). Anyway I'm trying to find an external wiring harness or plug for the motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated in locating one.

The harness that I have is OK except that one of the kill switch leads is broken within the plug itself. Now... I know that I can bypass this, however I'm one of those that likes to see things run as they were designed. Fault of mine.

Thanks for the help!

It looks like they are NA from OEM. You will have to try salvage yards. I don't remember for sure, but are the terminals moulded into the harness or are they replacable? Replaceable ones should be repairable.

It's a seven pin molded connector with beveled edges on the top sides.

Not had to much luck with the salvage yards I've tried. Except for one that wanted $365. Hope that was a misquote.

It took me 3 years of looking, but I ran across a NOS , still had the factory twine on it. A marine dealer that was retiring had a lot of stuff listed on eBay. I sent him a message telling him what I was looking for, and $150.00 later I had the harness and he threw in the dash plate with the choke toggle switch and the key switch. The are available, but you have to be patient looking and don't be shy when it comes to asking eBay listers what you are looking for.
You are looking for P/N 385231, Instrument cable, per shop.evinrude.com

Thanks for the info, I will give them a try. Not in a real hurry, just looking to restore as much as possible. Love tinkering with old machinery albeit cars, planes or boats.

Planning the maiden voyage this weekend on the Ogeechee. Beautiful slow black water river.

14 ft bath tub has the old cable stick steering and just mounted a 40lb thrust troller on her.

If the motor don't run I'll ski behing the troller.
