Bear with me, this is tough to explain. Watch the cam roller as you slowly turn the throttle grip. You should see two small hash marks on the edge of the ignition plate. The roller should contact the cam right in the middle of those two hash marks at the same exact time the throttle plate (inside the carb) begins to open. If it doesn't, adjust the linkage (left side of carb) until it does. It has to be exact so, it may take a couple of tries to get it right. Just take a look at the roller and how it hits the marks before doing anything. It'll be obvious to you if it's off.

I did the link and synch and it seemed to be running better in the tank so I decided to take it to the lake and it ran great. It fired up first try everytime, idled great, and ran well at WOT. Thanks so much for everyone's help, all of your time and expertise is much appreciated.
