I need a little advise concerning a new water pump I have a 72 80 hp merc with a early 80's 115hp lower unit and I need to purchase a new water pump/complete kit I found 2 but not for sure if these are right. The lower unit is with the tapered bearing style and has the speedometer hose on it.I cant seem to find any numbers. These are the numbers for the kits here at Iboats that I have found.

18-3314 sierra complete kit
9-48309 Mallory complete kit

I'll throw this out there:

I have an 85' 90hp I6. The 90 and 115 are almost completely the same motor sans the carbs.

I just ordered, and received yesterday, the water impeller kit from iBoats. That Serra number you listed is the one I ordered.

I'd say you're on the right track.

Gomer, Punch up the parts list for the gearcase at crowleymarine.com. See what number they recommend. Usually the impeller, wearplate and gaskets fit most models. If you need a base, you need to get the right one.

Will do,if I remember right the number for the gear case should be somewhere above the trim tab area inside the case.
