Can the ignition coils be removed without damage to them?
If so, how is this done?

I have good coils on a plate with poor to bad lamination and another plate that has good lamination. I want swap them out.

Sorry, I answered my own question on this one. I had a plate with a bad coil and just fooled around with it until it came off.

Actually pretty easy, just lift up the clip at rear of lamination and gently pry at rear of coil and it slips off...
