I have a 1973 135hp Evinrude model # 135383M With overheating issues I think. Do you have to have the motor in the water in order for it not to overheat? Will a motor flusher be enough to idle the engine?
when I use my muffs water sprays out from around them, does this mean the impeller is not working? I'm not much of a outboard mechanic, but learning pretty fast. Please bear with me if I ask dumb or stupid questions.
They should clamp tightly to the lower unit water inlet area. I used a garden variety Tempo flusher and I don't recall any water spraying out around the rubber cups.
