Yeah...I thought the PO's commentary about the boat hitting 45 was a bit optimistic. I have to cut the guy a break...he's 88.

Anyway, I'm real excited to get my project home. The PO seemed to be very honest with his description of the boat and his want for me to have it (I sold him on selling to me based on my intent to restore it) I'm working the deal thru his daughter who spent part of her childhood on the boat. She's already asked for pics when it's done.

If all goes well...I may invite the original owners family to go for a ride....next year.

I am looking forward to learning everything about this boat. When I'm on the water, I want to be 100% confident all is good.

Thanx for the encouragement...and stay tuned as we move forward!

...and to be fair, when I was going 35 in my boat, I felt like was doing 110. So I'll give the old man a pass on that one.

Looking forward to watching the project. Congrats on taking the dive!

Great deal on a pretty nice rig, given it's age:)

Glad to have you aboard, good luck with the new project!

I'm turning green with envy over here. You just don't see Islanders of that vintage for sale here. Only ones from the 80s and they want 10K for them.

Welcome, Congrats and Good Luck!!!

Thanx for all the props...

I'm pretty excited about this.

I'm really stoked about the flexibility this boat chassis offers. I'm thinking of getting creative with the interior and really building a 'cool' boat. I'm thinking I may turn it into an U.S. Army inspired boat. Paint it OD green..stencil on some stars and other insignia. maybe mount a .50 cal :)

It would definitely be different...

Thoughts???

i dunno. cost of ammo for the .50 would take you out of the bottom feeder category real quick.

altho it would help keep noisy jet skis away from where you're trying to fish :D

ant the watercops would be more respectful and polite when checking you for lifevests etc
