Hello all, I have been out in my shed looking at my lower unit, I am having trouble with a few things, The first thing is if i want to replace my bearings and races how do i remove them and how can i tell if they are bad exactly?

The second thing is how do i go about removing the seal under the water pump? i see on the end of the drive shaft is a nut holding the gear on, does this get remved and then the shaft slides off??

My seal kit should be arriving before the weekend!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hey! I missed a couple of your posts. That is the correct seal kit and the price is good too. As I remember the shift rod seal was about 8 bucks separately and the drive shaft seal was 17-18 by itself.. I see from your other post that you have disassembled the lower unit and removed the seal. By the way: Seals like that are a press fit and can not be removed without destroying them.
