Hello, I have a 74 Chrysler 20 hp model #202HF. I recently purchased this motor and it runs great but I am having a hard time finding ANY info on this motor. My recent issue is my start gear that engages the fly wheel has broken. If anyone can point me in the right direction or give me any info it would be much appreciated! Thanks

If I understand you right you have to replace the starter gear.
I suppose it is a manuel start engine that the gear will go up under the flywheel rim and engage the teeth when it spins.

Try Franz Marine, he will have the gear if it is available.

Thats the part I'm talking about. I believe its called the starter pinion but I'm not 100% sure. Do you know if there's a way to convert this motor to electric start?

Yes it is called the starter pinion.
This "early" 20Hp is hard to convert to electricstart. The stock electricmodel usually came with a dynastarter.
It is a combined starter/alternator that is mounted on the top of the flywheel.
These engines with dynastart had one major differnes then the manuel engines. It had another longer crank then the manuel engines.
The starter/alternator was mounted on the top of the extension of the crank.

Later in 1978 I beleave, the 20Hp was a downrated 25Hp and this engine had a complete different block. It came from the 25, 30, 35Hp motorfamily.
