1974 Resto Question

I have a restoration thread going in the Resto Forum on my 1974 16 Foot SS. Some of you are familiar with the slider doors for under the splashwell. I redid the rotten wood and covered with vinyl.

Question is whether or not to paint the "grid". Unpainted is original but would like to see and hear from someone who tried painting. I polished with 220 grit but still have some shadows.

Thanks to all.

I think it's looks just dandy unpainted.

That's not bad at all! Can you imagine how hard it would be to strip paint off that? I think it would be a maintenance liability. Nuther thing you could do if the shadows bother you is to try sand blasting with something fine like play sand.

Looks good, maybe if you use the boat in salt water you might want to clear coat it or paint it.
I would leave as is.
Nice looking job.

Thanks for the opinions. I can be too fussy at times. Just going to leave it plain. Easy to redo if I ever change my mind.
