Have a 1975 Evinrude 115 that runs like a dream. Last week, had to change the choke
solenoid as the one on the motor seized. Got my hands on a second hand one that works great.
Problem now is that when I try to start the motor from cold, meaning sitting for a few
days, it will take me cranking the motor for 2 -5 minutes intermittenly before it will fire.
But once it catches it's fine and it is fine for the rest of the day. On the water if I stop
once or fifty times, it starts right up first shot. Spark is good, fuel is being delivered to carbs as I can smell it in the carbs. Haven't checked the fuel pump directly but why would it start every other time other than the first.
Before I changed the choke solenoid the motor started as soon as I turned the key.
Any ideas would be appreciated
