Well here's a couple shots of the latest addition to the fleet of grass killers we have here. I just bought this puppy for 500 bucks (no trailer).

I'll be on the road at 8 am tomorrow to go pick it up.

It comes with a 165 HP 6 banger I/O (sorry E), rotted flooring, rotted dash, and an amazing hull. Plus my research shows me that there should be no cursed poured in foam.

I'll try and post some better pics tomorrow evening and later next week we'll talk about what the plans are for this one. Some are gonna like, some are gonna hate:eek:

Are you dispursing the Liquid Limo? Hard to keep up two bigger boats. My 22 and restored 16 are even a bit much.

Well that will definitly be a BIG center counsel monster, Sounds like fun. You really seem to have the nack on rebuilds and the skill to complete them. Good Luck.

Well now that is a familiar looking hull, nice score NB!

I have to say that I have stared at my rig for hours thinking about a CC. It just doesn't really make any sense up here on the great lakes, that would just be asking for trouble!

Looking forward to it buddy! Congrats on the addition!

Yeah you folks up north need somewhere to get in out of the weather!

This really is the hull I wanted for chasin those stripers, and the more I look at that semi v mariner, the more I realize it's just not what I wanted.

So I think we're gonna set it up as a lake boat for my brother and I'm gonna go at this hull with the big console that I bought last year.

My plans are to fish until Thanksgiving. I may have to break some surface ice to do it, (real thin ice). The thoughts of an open bow in that weather kind of scare me. Guys do it in their bass boats though, November is the best month for Muskie.

I can't wait to see how you fix her up. That'll be one big arse center console, I'll say that. Have fun buddy!

When you get her home and start eyeballing I think you'll see the the lines and structure of the CC jump right out at ya. When I look at it it seems to me like it would be a pretty straight forward conversion.

Have you considered throwing a bracket and an OB on the back? You could even cut the transom down and add a splashwell, eh! Had I known in advance that I would cut down my gunwales that may have been the route I would have taken.

I'm thinking you are prepping for the trip about now, well coffee anyway. Have fun, safe travels, rock on!

NB, I think everyone that has seen your accomplishments will look forward to learning from you again. Congrats and good luck. Sorry about the IB/OB thing but it is a SC;) Keep your fellow Islanders in mind for the parts you don't need, as I'm sure you will. Really looking forward to seeing her come alive.

Really looking forward to watching this project unfold.

Not sure if you've said already - how's the motor?

Re: 1975 Islander Mark IV I/O

OK, just got home. She's been rode hard and put up wet but overall I'm seein the vision:D

So where to start......

Dash has completely fallen off on the controls side
Skeg busted off the outdrive
Last time it was stickered was in 08
Hull looks great;)
One aluminum fuel tank, one plastic
On the way home the upper windshield came apart in the center and we almost launched a large peice of glass across I81:eek:
Seats, seat boxes, motor cover, rear seats-gone or shot
All the glass has been caulked at least 100 times....
Motor has dirty oil but NO WATER..don't know if it was winterized but I doubt it
And the sides of this machine appear to be a tad higher than the LL.
Someone did a small 4"x3" repair on the stern below the water line with steel sheet and steel rivets and then 5200'd over it???? Looks kinda nasty!
Outdrive is gonna get taken apart before we decide what to do power wise
And man that straight six is long.............

Gonna go take some pics right now!

Yup, looks nearly identical to the rig sitting in my garage being neglected! Well, except for the great big hole patch where the stringer drive was.

That hull looks in great shape, which by the sounds of it, is the only thing you really care about anyway, eh!

With what you have been through with the poured stuff I think you'll almost enjoy taking that styro out it will be so easy!

Congrats man!:D
