1975 johnson 6hp water tube

I have the one that came with mine but my friend straighten it out and it doesn't have the original bend. I wonder if I buy one so I can replicate the bend or see if a plumber could do it for me. What is the reason for the bend?

AFAIK its because the grommets top and bottom are not exactly in line,

It can be bent to any shape so that he tube enters both squarely but does not touch anything in between..
What's the problem you are trying to solve?

Well the oringal one is curved and if I out it I. Straight it will be too long. Is this message for me Vic's?

Relax guys, I know they are available lol... If you read my first post I said I could buy one. My question is I have one but like I said its straight, and my point of this post is why is it bent and another poster answered it for me.
