A while ago I fryed the switch box on this engine by making contact on a terminal I shouldn’t have with the battery still plugged in. I replaced the switch box and it regained spark. Turned it on about 3 times but haven’t had the chance to tune the carbs on the lake, seemed to run fine on muffs. Yesterday after winter, I pulled it out, hooked up a battery, got some gas, premixed and primed and hit the starter. It started up after 2 seconds and was idling fine. I went to accelerate it by moving the lever on the outboard(cable disconnected) and after revving up once, it died. After it wouldn’t start again, I checked the spark and it had none. Notice that the wires coming from the distributor to the switchbox were frayed and possibly touching. So I set about to rewire everything . Afterwards it had spark again, although it seems weaker to me. It still won’t start. Also it seems to me that the plugs should be wet after cranking a while but they’re not. I’ve confirmed gas to the carbs by undoing the drain bolt. Compression was excellent and tested just before I put it away last summer. Can it be the spark is to weak? Or is there a fuel delivery issue? Any help would be appreciated, this is getting frustrating. Thank You
