I am in the process of starting the ignition tune up kit and cleaning points ETC.. I would like to know if anyone knows the torque on the flywheel nut the model number is 25RL76E I will probably replace the coil on this as well - just trying to cover my bases I don't have a back up motor its on a 14ft boat (don't want to get stranded) Thanks in advance.:joyous:

Not a pro, but the manual I have says:
480-540 Inch lbs
which equals
40-45 ft lbs

In 77, they went up to 1200 - 1260 in lbs (100-105 ft lbs)

It's not a "Factory Service Manual" I have for that engine though, so I'd only use these if nobody else chimes in with factory service manual specs....

Hope it helps! :)

also can someone chime in on how to clean and set points on this - I have a repair manual for outboards but it is general not much about setting or cleaning points. Thanks
