My engine has not been starting well and does not idle. When you place it in drive it stalls..
I was thinking that an additive of Berryman's B-12 in the gas should clean out the idle jets in the carbs.
I need to adjust the throttle cables to get the engine not stall....
This engine has been sitting a while...it does run good and planes out well..
Please help me with any remedies....
Thanx Dave

sounds like carbs or fuel pump. May need a rebuild. Whats a while? Anymore than a yr, you should pull the carbs, floats might be gummed up.

At least three years, but it did idle well for a week or so....
I have been messing around with the throttle cables...
One guy mentioned that I was using only one carb... That's not good

Regular use of chemical additives to the fuel can extend the time between carb cleanings, however they are NOT a proven cure for dirty carbs and can actually contribute to the problem as the crud dislodged by the additive can cause further restriction in the small fuel passages that you need cleaned, and thus, cause the motor to run even LEANER.

When idle quality is affected there is NO SUBSTITUTE for proper carb maintenance (cleaning), which also entails sync'ing and adjustment to original factory specs to restore proper motor performance.

Berryman's makes an excellent 'dip' for cleaning the carb once disassembled.
