1976 evinrude 35

Can I put the stator off a 1980 Johnson 35 and put it on a 1976 evinrude 35?
The 1976 was originally a pull start with no stater or rectifier

I think those 2 motors have totally different ignitions. The 1976 has a lo tension magneto with points. And the 1980 uses CDI.

Would require a different flywheel I think.
