I wish I would have taken more pictures before and during the restore. I notice a lot of people have these hulls on here redfury and jcsercsa your boats are looking good I hope this gives you guys some ideas and motivation. I really liked this boat even if it was big and ugly. I replaced the floor seats carpet and all the vinyl the paint scheme is phenomenal the guy that painted it worked off the factory paint and made it custom but still look like it could have been that way from the factory. well guys keep them floatin

Re: 1976 Glastron T-179 resto

It prolly took me about a year to finish it. I donated the boat to my brother and his kids when I moved from Louisiana to S. Carolina. It has a Mercruiser 120 that runs like a champ. my favorite mod was taking the huge hand rails off the bow and replacing with the smaller ones.

Here is my new project i have been working on. Im going to build a wood and glass runabout to put his little gem on.

this is what the motor looked like when i picked it up it had been sitting out behind an old couples garage they say 10 years but i think it was longer. The wiring harness was toast. I changed the LU oil water pump and rebuilt the carb and changed the harness hooked up a gas tank and fresh battery and she busted right off and runs good on the stand. It was really clean under the lid. this is what she looks like as of today

Too cool , that motor really does look sweet now !! On mine i got a 1000 100hp 1962 merc , that pushs the tri-hull about 40 , , just cant wait till next spring with the boat and motor painted ,

That was nice to give your last one away !!!

are you going to start with a hull on this next one ??? John

This is the hull I plan on building. Just trying to get all the materials and hardware lined up. now that i got the motor just about buttoned up I can concentrate on the hull. Yeah my brother and nephews will enjoy the old Glastron and i didnt want to have to make a trip back to Louisiana and drag it back to S. carolina. so it worked out for everybody

Man, put the word "glastron" in a thread...John and I just flock to it like a fly to a light bulb:D

That's the inboard version of my boat, 'cept a year newer! So cool to see. I like the blue paint/interior scheme. Planned to do similar with my boat, but in red, along with a few other "modifications". Once I get going on my boat, I'm hoping to take it to the same level as John did with his for documentation, if not more. I'm asking Santa for a Makita Grinder and flapper discs for Christmas and if I'm a good boy, maybe I'll get to finally start the uglyness of fixing those stringers and transom come spring!
