1976 head bolts 35 hp johnson

I am trying to torque the head bolts down on the engine but I cannot get a torque wrench on the bottom bolts, any tricks to doing this

Flex socket ?---------Or use a box end on a torqued higher bolt and sort of copy that on the lower 2 bolts.

If you can get a flex socket and extension in there use that. If not do what I used to do and use a box end wrench and guess at the setting.JMO

Thanks, Hard to believe that that is the design ! I will use a regular box end wrench and guess.

You can guestimate a little better by torqueing a bolt with your torque wrench and then use the box end wrench and see how tight it is. That will give you a little better idea as to how tight to make those hard to reach bolts... JMHO!
