Looking real good, nothing like a nice new sealed up transom with all the pieces going back in.

Under the plastic to sand JB while it rains.

I am going to leave these straps on the bumper hoping to stretch them out a little.
Both sides.

From the pics you can see the poop deck needs tweaked. Put a lot of bend to it. That doesn't sound good but I believe that's the correct word for the rear deck?

Moved the motor back into position. Had to align the motor after the new transom board. Tedious stuff now. Wires, patching, etc.

Justin - Did you cut the reliefs for the steering arm?
That'll be a little challenging now. Best done using a holesaw on an angle before cutting out the keyhole. Just add that to your list of "things I shoulda done" for the next time you do this job that you'll never do again. Everyone has one of those lists. I do. - Grandad

Challenging - yes. Impossible - no. Otherwise it's "Give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around" from an old CW truck driving song.

Wish I would have known that before hand. One challenge after another. I know the song and don't wish to sing it. It looks like I can get at it. I edited my previous post to remind anyone to notch the steering arm area. I am very thankful you told me before I got out on the lake.

Just skip the dynamite part of the song and you'll be OK. Without the notches steering is very limited. The motor is in now, isn't it?

Yes the motor is in. Only took a few minutes to knock the wood out of the way for the steering using a long drill. Yes, the dynamite part of the song came to mind. Things are looking up now. :)

There ya go. Don't forget to splash some spar varnish or what ever you used on the wood to protect the bare wood notches.

It's a lot easier filling holes with JB Weld using a piece of duct tape on the other side. Also if the piece is on an angle on the face the tape will keep it from sagging while curing. Would have liked to know that a couple of days ago.

Mounting a plate or a couple pieces of angle on the inside to help support the kicker stand. I have a 15 hp mercury 4 stroke and it is heavy. Probably a little over the weight limit for my stand. It has brought me home but if there was a hint of wind it would be useless.

Ran into a problem with the hydraulic pump. Although I took pictures I did not get a view of the hydraulic lines and where they go. I have two hose connections at the bottom of the pump. Problem is, I have two lines from the out drive. There should be another one connected to the steering. I looked at the drawings in the book but no go. I wish I had a clear drawing of the connections. My merc book doesn't have them. I knew I bit off more than I can chew.
