Switch coils first and see if it fires the top cylinder....if it does, then it's more than likely a bad coil. Coils are a whole bunch cheaper than boxes. Is the bottom plug black and sooty? When you pop the carb, take a good light and look in at your reeds and make sure none of the petals are missing.
