Drill into the carburetor Idle mixing chamer so that you can use a small punch to drive it out.----This was mentioned a few days ago !!

l know… seems drastic I'll have to try it one day

the shaft of the needle at that section is still chunky …. it is surprising it snapped off like that

stuff happens I guess.

Breaking the tip off is a well known problem.-----Some of those 6 HP models had a steel point put into a brass shaft in the last years of production..-------On a 40 year old motor there is no telling what has been done by previous owners !!----The point is this point has to be removed !!

Might try a small brad and a small needle nosed pliers from the top -- use the head of the brad to push the point out.

finishing nail has a dimple in the head -- helps catch the point of the needle. If your attempt fails, all other options are still open.

just wanted to say thanks eveyone for the help i ended up soaking the carb in nitric acid to disolve the brass
