I recently purchased a boat with the above engine. It has been sitting for a few years. It starts fine, but cuts out. Will a carb re-build do the trick? I have ordered two carb kits to do the rebuild. I took the carb off, cleaned the gunk out of the bowl on the bottom carb, put it back together, and it ran fine for a few minutes. An hour later, it started cutting out again, especially when I go from full gas to idle. Anything else?<br />Also, when I touch the screwdrive to some metal, and then to another piece of metal, I get a spark. I also saw a spark when I put the throttle down...I guess the metal hit another piece of metal.... Is this normal? Will this cause the engine to cut out? How do you fix this problem. I need help!!!
