ok I'm kind of stumped. Is it possible for a high speed orfice to be completely missing and the engine seem like it runs fine? A real close family friend gave me a boat that he had sitting for 4 years but he told me that it ran great the last time it was used. I'm taking the carbs apart and noticed the middle carb was cleaner than the top and bottom and it was missing the highspeed jet orfice. Can anyone tell me if this is the way it's supposed to be or do i need to get a new highspeed jet? This seems kind of strang to me because i cranked it when i first got it and it actually started up but didn't idle worth a crap.
thank you
Andy

No way it can run normal without that orfice. The gas would pour through there in copious amounts and make that cylinder extremely rich to say the least.

really sorry,
I found the plug, the head was completely stripped off so i couldn't see it. I only found out after i pulled the bowl out of the carb cleaner and was rinsing them out with water. So now i have to figure out how to get the thing out without damaging the bowl. Any suggestions?
thanks
andy
