Hello, I have been searching for an original working and functional control box with the red plug harness and both of the shift/throttle cables for a 1977 johnson. The harness is about 12 to 14 ft long and the shift cables are both 10 ft long. Any input on where I mite grab one of these up maybe from a boat salvage yard or anywhere else ? Thank you in advance.

Good luck....not many folks collect and properly store stuff anymore. Today's generation have become a dissposible group of people that don't repair anything anymore. Finding one in good working order with control cables might be scarce. Not sure what you need is old enough for the antique boaters to hold and save just yet. There are boat/ marine salvage yards around the country, but the working condition of something like your looking for will be a crapshoot no doubt. Not sure how easy a set of controls would be to rebuild and replace cables if needed. Wish I had better news, but things are what they are......as I said, " good luck"....

Control box up to a 1995 model works just fine.-----Should not be hard to find one.---Newer " thin style " ---is better.

Hey racerone, when you say you are too far away to help with one, does that say you may have access to one ? Like what I am looking for ? What is your location as well. I may end up having to go newer style, but I am trying to keep everything all original if possible. Thank you.
