The last time i took the boat out I could not get the motor to run on top end. I could even get the boat to run 5 mph. when I gave it full throttle the motor would bog down and shut off. I rebuild the carbs and I belive it is the fuel pump. I have since odered one. The motor had done this a few times before but went away. I was running off a six gallon tank at the back of the boat and added a 24 gallon tank at the front of the boat when the problem got worse. I have not put the fuel pump on yet and decided to try the six gallon tank when the control panel started making a buzzing sound. Shortly after the motor had a burnt smell coming out to the exhaust.
I immediately shut the motor off. I had only been running the motor for about 3-5 minutes when the buzzer and smell came. Can any one help me to narrow the problem and point me in the right direction. I hope that I have not burnt any cyclinders??!! I was thinking that with the fuel pump not working I was starving a couple of cyclinders and the motor started over heating (I HOPE) and once I replace the pump It will be alright. Does any one know what the buzzer is and what the smell could be?
